The community-driven token and DeFi movement has been monumental in the past year. SurfMoon is a travel-based redistribution token (TRT) and DeFi project launched by Swiss-based blockchain company Beaxy Exchange on Binance Smart Chain. It is registered as a utility token and can be used to access travel services and rewards through the SurfMoon ecosystem.

Travel is the largest industry in the world. In 2018, it generated approximately $8.8 Trillion USD in global revenue. And as a sector, travel represents a trillion dollar opportunity for a truly decentralized blockchain-based travel token.

What exactly is a decentralized token? Well, SurfMoon has been designed to reward its holders and to foster strong community growth through a series of smart tax structures.

SurfMoon is the first token that rewards you for using it. By leveraging the Smart Tax structure, SurfMoon rewards its holders by redistributing a portion of its tax revenue taken from fees paid to book hotels on the Waves Decentralized Exchange.

This is a project I've been working on for the past month or so, I'm really intrigued by the concept. The fact that token holders are rewarded every half day by being credited new SMOON tokens based on their holdings intrigues me. So far, 26% of all tokens have been distributed to holders since their launch in April this year, which I find quite impressive. Below are the different prize categories.

Tokenomics

Our tokennomics structure includes BNB reflection, which is the current trend in the community coin space. It differs from native token reflection in that it prevents the chart from dumping from selling, as well as promoting holding and inspiring investor safety. If the token market cap suffers, all those holding the original token suffer as well. Meanwhile, if the reflection of BNB is distributed, it is unlikely to have an impact on the investor's portfolio. Apart from that, BNB reflections also promote token purchases, as they can serve as a means of passive income.
